Last but not least，是一句经常出现的套话（cliche），往往在介绍多个事物或人物的最后一个时用到。Last but not least的英文解释为：last in sequence, but not last in importance; last in order of mention or occurrence but just as important。意思是：顺序排在最后，但重要性并非最后。可以将其翻译为：最后，同样重要的一点是… ；最后，同样重要的一位是…。

In a bid to，其英文意思类似于“in an attempt to”，表示：尝试做某事。其中bid的意思为： an attempt to achieve or get something。注意Bid在这里的意思和其常用的“出价”（an offer of a particular amount of money for something that is for sale）这层含义，有一定的区别。
